February 22, 2018

After nearly a five-month search, the Farmers Coop Society Board of Directors has named John McDaniel as the new Chief Executive Officer.

“The Board of Directors was very committed to finding the candidate that would be committed to ensuring Farmers Coop Society’s long term strength and viability. It became very clear through the process that John McDaniel was at the top of that list. His experience and expertise will be invaluable to our cooperative,” said Mark Vermeer, President of the FCS Board of Directors.

McDaniel, who holds a M.S. degree in Agricultural Economics, has spent his storied career in the Food & Beverage and Agriculture industries. Utilizing his experiences, McDaniel has developed into an exceptional leader with vast knowledge and expertise throughout the field.

“I had a good feeling about FCS after my first meeting with the Board in Sioux Center. It was evident during our discussions that we shared the same values and philosophy for organizational success,” noted McDaniel.

Having worked as the Senior Vice-President of Supply Chain with Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. (dairy cooperative), McDaniel brings with him an impressive resume with additional highlights including Executive Director of Raw Materials position at Anheuser-Busch, and acting as a successful Independent Consultant.

“John has transitioned seamlessly into his role and we have seen how customer focused he is. It’s an exciting time for FCS and I look forward to what’s ahead,” said Vermeer.

The FCS Board of Directors, along with Interim General Manager, Stan Feekes, are working with McDaniel to ensure a smooth transition.

“There are a lot of really good people here and it has been a pleasure working with the Board and staff during the transition period. I am excited about the future of this organization, we have a top notch team and are well positioned in this market for future success and growth,” said McDaniel.
