What should you be doing right now to comply with manure management regulations?
Effective December 31, 2008 the Iowa DNR adopted EPA standards for determining the capacity of feedlots and confinements.
You need a permit if your herd exceeds any of these levels: 714 mature dairy cattle; 1,000 veal calves; 1,000 other cattle; 2,500 swine over 55 lbs.; or 10,000 swine below 55 lbs.
