Doug has a long history with agriculture. He grew up on a grain and livestock farm Southwest of West Bend, Iowa. In 1992 he joined Farmland Industries as a Livestock Production Specialist. His career with Farmland Industries and the cooperative system involved moves to Southern Iowa, Southeast Nebraska, and back to Northwest Iowa, in both grain and feed capacities. For the past six years he was the Feed Department Manager for Farmers Cooperative in Remsen, Iowa.
Doug lives south of Rock Rapids with his wife, Michele. Michele is a Patient Services Representative and she works at the Sioux Center Medical Center. Together they have three adult children and two grandchildren (one more due next month) who live across the Midwest. In his free time, Doug enjoys spending time with his horses and his family. He also enjoys spoiling his grandkids, as a grandpa should.
