How Should I Handle Marginal Farm Land?

The ISA Research Center for Farming Innovation (RCFI) has been in communication with the firm, Two Degrees Adapt. Two Degrees Adapt is currently working with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and the Walton Family Foundation to conduct a study on Midwest agriculture. The central focus of this study is assessing the economics of different land uses (e.g., conventional row crops, alternative crops, solar and wind leasing).

What to Expect

You can expect to answer questions similar to:

  1. How do you define marginal farmland?
  2. Do you look at marginal land on a long-term scale or year-to-year?
  3. Would you consider alternate crop practices?
  4. Would you consider leasing ground to solar or wind?

The survey takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

If you would like to take part in this Two Degrees Adapt survey, please email Kristen Dearden, RCFI Outreach & Engagement Coordinator, at kdearden@iasoybeans.com by Monday, July 24, and she will connect you with Two Degrees Adapt who will then contact you directly.
