Introducing Our New Cover Crop Storage Facility

FCS Introduces New Cover Crop Storage System

Farmers Coop Society (FCS) is committed to leading our producers with innovation and excellence. Because of our commitment to our producers and our commitment to support sustainable farming practices, FCS has made a sizeable investment in our Agronomy Services and facilities. This summer, we built a new cover crop seed storage system at our Sioux Center Agronomy Hub. This facility allows us to continue to be a leader in cover crop options for our growers. It expands our product portfolio by allow us to offer more species, variety, and custom blends. As adoption rates for sustainable farming practices increase, Farmers Coop Society will be prepared to continue to support our growers with sustainable farming practices.

The facility will feature five (5) 3000-unit seed tanks for cover crop. Adding storage and capacity will allow FCS to be more flexible to ensure we capture the best market price and availability of product for our patrons.

The new storage system will have automation and new cutting-edge technology. Adding storage space, conveyors, and new technology will broaden our cover crop service options for our customers. Farmers Coop Society has seen an increase in demand for cover crop services in the past few years. As a cooperative, we always look for new and innovative ways to support our producers and this new facility is another way we do that for our members.

Farmers Coop Society, a member-owned cooperative, has nine locations across Northwest Iowa and Southeast South Dakota. FCS offers patrons agronomy, feed, and grain sales and services. They also operate the How-to-Building Center in Sioux Center. For more information on Farmers Coop Society, visit www.farmerscoopsociety.com.
